Shields Pharma Inc. is looking for qualified and experienced employees to join the successful team. We currently have the following full time positions available for Markham:

Laboratory Technician

Reports To: CSO
Location: Markham, Ontario

The Laboratory Technician supports the Quality Control Department and carries out physical activities at the QC laboratory according to the schedule established by following the procedures, and good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). This position reports to the CSO.

Duties shall include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Receive, process, and manage incoming samples, reference standards and reagents and chemicals within QC lab.
• Perform daily verification of QC balances.
• Monitor lab water and send out water samples on a routine basis.
• Perform manual and machine washing of labware.
• Perform routine cleaning of QC lab.
• Responsible for updating inventory databases for reagents, chemicals, reference standards, HPLC/GC Columns, etc.
• Responsible for monitoring and ordering general lab supplies (chemicals/non-chemicals)
• Perform other related duties as assigned from time to time based on company needs.

Qualification:

• Permanent residency and/or Canadian citizenship
• Minimum College diploma in a scientific / technical area or bachelor’s degree in biology, Chemistry, or similar fields
• Minimum 3 years of experience in QC department
• Good verbal and written communication skills
• Competence in cGMP/GMP requirements and working knowledge of quality systems cGMP/GMP standards.
• Excellent collaboration with cross functional teams
• Ability to organize, manage, and maintain attention to detail in a fast-paced environment, with minimal instruction on routine work and moderate instruction on new assignments.
• Proficiency with MS office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
